Scheduling Maintenance

Plan and communicate scheduled downtime.

Creating Maintenance

  1. Go to Admin → Maintenance
  2. Click Schedule Maintenance
  3. Fill in the details
  4. Set the schedule
  5. Click Create

Advance Notice

Recommended notice periods:

ImpactNotice
Minor (non-disruptive)24-48 hours
Standard3-5 days
Major1-2 weeks
Critical infrastructure2-4 weeks

Timing Best Practices

  • Schedule during low-traffic periods
  • Consider time zones of your users
  • Avoid holidays and weekends if possible
  • Build in buffer time

During Maintenance

  1. Update status to "In Progress" when starting
  2. Post updates on progress
  3. Mark "Completed" when done
  4. Post completion summary
